A mobile phone insurance scam in Swansea affecting hundreds in the UK is probed by trading standards.

Many people want to create success for the new year not realizing that in order to do that, they need to have inside of them a blueprint for success. What does that mean specifically? Actually, having a blueprint for success means two things. The first thing is that it means you have to have a clear vision of what it is you want to create. And the more powerful your vision and the more you can feel your vision, the stronger it is.

So for example, if you’re wanting to make $500,000.00 in real estate in the year 2009, and you’d like to work maybe 30 hours a week or less, and you’d like to work with your ideal clients, then create a mission statement to that effect. I would recommend start off with the words, “I am so happy and grateful that I am making $500,000.00 or more in 2009, and I’m working 30 hours a week or less, and I am working with my ideal clients doing work I love.” Once you say that and you state it and you put it on paper, you put it on an index card where you can read it out loud every day.

The next thing you do is you step into the visualization and you really feel what it feels like. So for example, you step into it and feel what does it feel like to be making $500,000.00 a year. You can imagine what you would do with that added income. Perhaps you could visualize yourself spending part of it and saving part of it, or giving part of it to charity.

Make your vision very vivid and make it like a moving picture, not like a snapshot, but like a just a moving picture of seeing yourself doing all of these things you want to do with this added income. Perhaps you’re already making $500,000.00, so for you perhaps in 2009 the big stretch would be $800,000.00, $900,000.00 or beyond, whatever is a stretch for you. Pick a figure that’s realistic and yet optimistic at the same time.

And then once you’ve got that vision statement, you simply need to feel it. You need to feel what it feels like to have that income. Feel what it feels like to be working your ideal number of hours per week. Feel what it feels like to be working with your ideal clients. Experience the joy and the fun of being of service to these clients. The more you breathe into it the more you’ll be able to feel it.

The key is to do this frequently. Every morning look at your vision statement, read it out loud with feeling, and take a few extra moments to really feel it before going to sleep. Your subconscious mind is very receptive. Put it by your nightstand and right before you go to sleep look at it, read it, and feel it. Let this sink into your subconscious mind that this is your vision. This is your intention for the new year. It’s very powerful to have a vision statement.

The second thing to do to create a success blueprint is you need to be sure that you’ve cleared your self limiting beliefs. Here’s the process that I recommend to do that. Get out a piece of paper and create a T diagram. Draw a horizontal line across the page and draw a vertical line down the page so you have two columns. The left hand column is called Your Self Limiting Beliefs. The right hand column is called Your Empowered Beliefs. This next part requires that you become like a loving detective and search inside yourself as to what self limiting beliefs you would need to reprogram in order to reach your goal, in order to really manifest that vision statement.

Some examples of self limiting beliefs that stop people, (and the biggest one right now) is “I can’t reach my financial goals because of the economy.” So that statement is a self limiting belief that belongs in your left hand column. Another one that’s very common that people have is “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t have what it takes to succeed.” Over the years of coaching clients, real estate agents in particular, I’ve heard many self limiting beliefs that create an anti success blueprint.

“I’m not good enough.” ” I’m not smart enough. “I’m not experienced enough.”

I Natural Ways To Lower Blood Pressure a client named JoAnn who, when she first came to me, was broke and scared. She was in debt. She had been a real estate agent for a while and she was feeling stuck. She was at a low point in her life. After I helped her create her vision statement, we went to work to find out what self limiting beliefs she was carrying on the subconscious level that were stopping her from success. And we found out that she had several. If any of these are true for you, put them in your left hand column. For example, “I’m not good enough” goes in the left hand column.

Her parents did not encourage her to succeed. Her parents did not instill a success blueprint in her, rather they have her the impression that she should just get married and that a man would take care of her. So she did not have the support she needed to say, “I will be successful.”

And then, in addition to that, she was told as a child over and over again, “don’t bother people.” ” Don’t talk to strangers.” “If you call somebody up you’re bothering them.” And of course as a real estate professional, one of your jobs is to call people up. Sometimes you’re calling people you don’t even know. She wasn’t aware of it, but these beliefs were blocking her from her success.

She had tried many different kinds of coaching. She had tried accountability coaching. She even knew about the Law of Attraction, but couldn’t implement the Law of Attraction because of her self limiting beliefs. In the period of time that we worked together, which was 24 sessions, she was able to change those self limiting beliefs.

So in the left hand column she had written “I’m not good enough”. In the right hand column she wrote, “I am more than good enough”. In the left hand column, “Women aren’t as valuable as men”, right hand column, “Women are just as valuable as men”, left hand column, “Don’t talk to strangers”, right hand column what was the right hand column for that one? “People are happy to hear from me”.

What happened after Joanne cleared her self limited beliefs, and put her empowered beliefs in place was that she created her ideal professional life. Currently she’s making $35,000.00 a month and happily only has to work five hours a day working with her ideal clients. I give you this example to illustrate the dramatic importance of knowing what your self limiting beliefs are and clearing them out of the way.

Recently I was working with a client who had been scripted or programmed when she was a child with a lot of anti success beliefs such as “I can’t be visible.” “I can’t draw attention to myself.” “I’m not supposed to succeed.”

So if any of those resonate for you as you’re reading this article, put those in your left hand column and realize that you’re not stuck with them. They’re not facts, they’re just beliefs, and do not judge yourself for having them, because at one point in your life these beliefs were survival strategies. Get as many down in the left hand column as you can. Take some guesses.

Once you’ve done that, go to the right hand column and for every self limiting belief you’ve written, write down your empowered belief. So if your self limiting belief says, “I can’t be visible” then write down “It’s now safe to be visible.” If your self limiting belief is “I’m not supposed to succeed” then write down “I am highly worthy of success and I’m supposed to succeed.” “I’m supposed to live my dreams.”

What you do after that is you want to totally release the left hand column, and one of the best methods to do that is called the Burn Technique. Simply cut the paper in half, burn the left hand column. Let it go in a ritual, and as it’s burning just say good-bye to all of the self limiting beliefs that you no longer need.

In the right hand column, I would recommend taking each of those empowering beliefs and putting each of them on an index card and then saying those empowered beliefs every day out loud with feeling to reprogram your self conscious mind. If the negative beliefs start to creep up again, simply use the power of your mind to interrupt those beliefs. Just say, “Stop.” Take a deep breath and put in an empowered belief. In this way you are maximizing your possibility of a Success Blueprint for the year 2009.

Just to summarize, be sure to create your vision statement with feeling and be sure after that that you dig down and bring to the surface any possible self limiting beliefs that could be getting in your way. Be sure you burn those, and then implant or install your new positive Empowered Beliefs and enjoy creating your Success Blueprint for the year 2009.

A primary school boy from Hampshire becomes the youngster person to pass maths A-level with an A grade.

2008 will be remembered by many as the most challenging year since the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. More than just one factor, travel experts were juggling multiple themes during the past year including weakening consumer demand, skyrocketing fuel costs, and US Dollar weakness against the Euro and other major currencies. The only constant that seems to remain as we enter the New Year is continued and more systemic global economic turndown which will likely continue well into 2009. Considering the lightning speed which has characterized many of the changes witnessed during 2008, it might be overly ambitious to attempt to predict the likely scenarios in 2009. Nevertheless, here’s my best shot at what we might be seeing in the near future:

1. Continued Downward Pricing Pressure - So much of the travel industry is energy dependent that it was a wonder that prices continued to fall last year even with record high oil prices. The precipitous fall in energy gave further impetus to the downward price trends which are prevalent throughout the economy. Travel suppliers, cruise and otherwise, recognize the interdependence between room counts and secondary income streams and will reduce prices to record low levels to ensure high occupancy. This radical price reduction is most apparent in the cruise industry and in resort cities such as Las Vegas, where visitor expenditures place such a key part in the profit formula.

2. Government Tourist Office Intervention - Various countries and regions will create and advertise massive incentives to entice tourists to visit their respective areas. These incentives will not be isolated to third world venues such as the Caribbean but will include Europe and Canada as well. Every visitor staying a specified period of time will be eligible for the government based bonus packages.

3. Dollar Strengthens - As the banks of the other major industrial nations reduce their interest rates to spur lending and economic activity, the dollar will rise. Some predict that the US Dollar and Euro will be at par in 2009. European tourism will benefit from a stronger dollar.

4. Economic Uncertainty Fuels Late Booking Trend- The trend of late bookings which has been growing in recent years will reach a crescendo in 2009. The late booking trend will force suppliers into even greater price reductions to fill space and the traveling public will be trained to wait for the lowest price. Additional cruise capacity planned years ahead for a brighter economic scenario will further exacerbate the problem. More cruise ships will be relocated to other geographic areas such as the Middle East, Orient, and South America in an attempt to find greater demand and higher revenue.

5. Obama Presidency Re-Establishes US Prestige - Obama presidency to increase popularity of US as a tourist destination barring a series of Bush-like missteps, Obama’s global popularity will encourage US tourism. The love affair between the US and much of the rest of the world will be renewed.

6. Reconciliation Begins With Cuba - A multitude of factors both within Cuba itself and in the US result in an opening which will eventually lead to the end of the isolation and embargo in place since the early 1960s. When Cuba finally opens, the cruise industry in particular will be the primary initial beneficiary of the huge pent up demand which exists.

I have lived and vacationed in a number of countries with the Lonely Planet guides, and always found them extremely helpful. With this new guide, “Lonely Planet’s Best In Travel 2009: 850 Trends, Destinations, Journeys & Experiences For The Year Ahead” I found it to be very enjoyable for different reasons.

I always liked how the Lonely Planet guides had a ton of information about the places I was living or visiting. However, I sometimes wished they had more color photos such as some of the other travel guides available. With this “Best In Travel 2009″ guide, there isn’t the depth for each country like the country specific guides, but rather interesting places around the entire world. And this book is full of colorful pictures.

It is a beautifully laid out book with scores of magnificent photographs. Combine the photos with the brief descriptions of places around the entire globe and you have a great coffee table book and a text that will inspire you to plan your next travel adventure. What I enjoy most about this book is it helps generate ideas of places to go and things I want to do.

The book is chalk full of lists. Top 10 Countries, Top 10 Regions, Top 10 Cities and so on. I don’t know if I agree with the top 10 in each of these categories, and you might not either, but that does not matter. Use the book to inspire you to travel to new places and to generate ideas and possibilities. Even if you don’t travel to the places listed, you will be more aware of what’s out there and places that are available to explore. If you enjoy traveling, you’ll enjoy looking through this book for ideas.

Sellers are very motivated- Because of the increase in inventory sellers who are serious about selling are more willing to negotiate knowing that the buyers have lots of homes to choose from. You need to be more attractive than your neighbors. Sellers know that.

A Shockingly Easy Way to Stop a Dog From Barking

Stopping your dog from barking is usually the second most frustrating reason why dog owners want to take their dog to obedience training (next to housebreaking). Before you can even attempt to stop your dog from barking at everything that moves, you need to understand a few simple but important facts. Once you understand these, getting them to stop is easy.

First, you cannot expect your dog to stop barking altogether. What you can do is teach you dog when it is OK to bark and when it is not. You may even want to create a trigger word where the dog can bark on command. If you use a word which will trigger your dog to bark on command, you will greatly reduce the urge he or she feels to randomly bark without giving that command. For instance, train your dog to bark when you tell them “Rover, speak!”

Next, you want to move on to actually stopping your dog from barking when they are not supposed to. Usually the dog is barking for a reason, even if it isn’t blatantly apparent to you at first.

Sometimes they are trying to alert you of danger or trying to get your attention to something. The key here is to think about what it may be that is causing your dog to bark and acknowledge it (and remove it if necessary). Then acknowledge your dog by saying something like, “Thank you, Rover. I see the squirrel (as you point to it). Now that’s enough barking.” Use a firm, but very calming and polite tone. The dog should pick up on your acknowledgment and stop.

This method should get you started in the right direction to a well behaved and quieter dog.

Macs, is not just a good tool to make your work easier and efficient, it is quite intuitive and fun to learn, full of useful application software bundled with it, not prawn to viruses and a work of art gadget.

iWork ‘09, Mac’s office productivity suite is the easiest way to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations the Mac way. And it’s compatible with Microsoft Office.

Theirs is the only local government unit in the Philippines that I know uses Mac. In addition, they are using hi-speed wireless internet access. I admired how the Mayor envisioned to provide each employee with a Mac if their local government budget allows.

iPod Stopped Working - How to Go From Zero to Hero in 6 Seconds

Last year we bought my stepson an Apple iPod nano 4 gig for his 15th. birthday. Beautifully designed and super slim in black. Of course he didn’t need an iPod, he already had a perfectly fine, unbranded 1 Gig MP3 player, but this thing was what he wanted…..

So last September in good time for his birthday we duly ordered one from Amazon.co.uk for around about £134, plus a couple of accessories to go with it. I’m a huge fan of Amazon and the kit arrived within the promised couple of days.

Move on to this August, off he goes on holiday, but he has to borrow an MP3 player from a friend. Not having my brain in gear at the time it didn’t register that he wasn’t taking his own lovely iPod. But on his return and with his impending birthday coming around again and the threat of having to provide the latest iPod, I asked what was wrong with his iPod.

“Oh, my iPod just stopped working.” “How do you mean just stopped, did you drop it, did you leave it out in the rain did you go swimming with it on?” “No, I just charged it up one day and it was working and the next time I came to use it - a few weeks later - it wasn’t working. Wouldn’t even work when connected to the PC. Nothing”

Now, I’m as much of a technophobe as the next 50+ year old, but I was an early Apple Macintosh user, back in 1985/86 and am a huge fan of Apple and all things Apple. Surely they don’t make stuff that just stops working - I mean I know times have moved on and everything, but the ethos of the company hasn’t changed that much has it?

To my mind with my limited technical knowledge and my even more limited knowledge of batteries and rechargeable batteries at that, I was convinced this was a battery issue. He hadn’t misused the thing at all. I assumed he’d also tried everything in his iPod manual to sort the thing out, although I do have a bit of a belief that if you need a manual to use a thing it needs to be better designed - but that’s another whole subject!

Thank goodness the iPod came from Amazon. I located my order online (phew, within a year ago) and phoned them. No good. I emailed and got an immediate response - “to better serve Apple customers, Apple wants iPod customers to phone them direct.”

Uh-oh I thought, here we go. But no, Apple customer service was brilliant, I needed the iPod with me when I phoned so they could get me to try a couple of things before they sent a replacement.

I duly took the iPod with me to the office the next day and called Apple. I had a reference number so got straight through to someone who had all the details in front of them in an instant.

So, within seconds, and I mean seconds, the chap at the other end of the phone, a Frenchman I think, had the iPod working again.

So, why am I writing this piece?

Well it occurred to me that there are a whole lot of people out there like me who have bought iPods, for their loved ones, not really understanding what they are all about, other than maybe realising, or being told that they are sooooo COOL. But worse than that the MSN chat loving, glued to the PC screen, use the computer everyday, supposed technical whizz kids for whom the thing was bought, have never even opened the manual. (And with this well designed piece of kit - why would they?)

In case it goes wrong of course. The troubleshooting guide. So, don’t assume your teenager has read his or her Apple iPod manual. He or she probably hasn’t even downloaded, or installed it or whatever. Wouldn’t recognize a troubleshooting guide if it slapped him or her in the face.

And why do I think I am entitled to pass on what could prove to be a pure gold nugget? Something that could save the hassle of a return, or the expense of a replacement iPod? Well just today, completely unprompted, my own daughter handed me her very fancy 30 gig iPod with the words - could you have a look at this dad, it just stopped working - even when I recharge it, or connect it to the PC - nothing.

I did exactly what the man at Apple customer service had told me to do and even though my daughter is something of a gadget whizz kid, I became her instant hero - fixed, one 30 gig iPod in white. What a COOL feeling that was!

OK, so what was it that I was able to do that saved me having to buy my stepson a new (and obviously the latest, more expensive) iPod? Or at least having the hassle of arranging a swap? What was it that turned me from a doddery old man to a technical hero in my daughter’s eyes?

It was this - and it’s not original, it’s not my own idea, it’s not that clever even, it was the first thing the Apple man said to try, it probably appears in the iPod user manual, but I am prepared to bet more than 50% of teenage iPod
owners have never heard of it - it’s how to reset the iPod.

Press and hold the menu button and at the same time press and hold the circular central control button. Hold both for about 6 seconds. It seems like an age, but in that short time you could 1. Save yourself upwards of £200 - the cost of a replacement, 2. Surprise a know it all teenager into thinking you are hip and cool and switched on after all, or 3. Be your 20+ year old daughter’s hero all over again, 20 years on!
