A man jailed for murdering a barmaid 27 years ago could be released from prison after DNA evidence was reviewed.

A wide variety of fun science fair projects can be done with wind power. Making a windmill is a great way to discover how this energy source works. Windmill science fair projects can focus on studying the effects of a particular part of a wind turbine.

For instance, how does the material of which the blades of a windmill are made affect the windmill’s effectiveness in generating power? What about the angle at which the blades are oriented? What about the length and width of each individual blade? How many blades is it best to have? Is more always better, or is there some golden mean?

Your project could also explore how the speed of the wind affects the amount of electricity a windmill can generate. Science experiments of this sort are easy to run. Get an electric fan that can be turned to a variety of speed settings. The fan will serve as your wind. Then you can observe the effects of wind speed on the windmill’s energy creation in a controlled setting.

Windmill science fair projects could also focus on getting the windmill to perform certain functions - whose level of intricacy will depend on the degree of challenge you seek from the project. You can get your windmill to light an LED or lift a small weight. Model windmills can even be used to charge batteries!

Does the orientation of the windmill’s axis make a difference in terms of electricity generation? You can explore this issue by comparing the performance of windmills with horizontal axes to that of windmills with vertical axes.

To become adept at putting together outstanding windmill science fair projects, consider learning about Ohm’s Law: I = V/R, which expresses the relationship between current (I), potential difference (V), and resistance (R). If you are ever putting together electric circuits of your own, knowing this formula will help you make most of the necessary computations.

Another possibility is to get creative with the basic structure of your windmill - for instance including multiple motors and rotors and seeing if this affects the amount of electricity your windmill can generate. You can have endless varieties of fun with windmill science fair projects. Pick the idea that seems most exciting to you and take it as far as you can. In the process, you will produce a great project that you will be proud of for a lifetime.

Madeline Binder has been developing ideas for prize winning science fair projects for many years. She offers a broad selection of advice, materials, and inspiration for energy science fair projects and physics science fair projects.

Spiritual Meaning of Numbers - Numbers in the Bible

3 月 10th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

References to numbers in the Bible begin almost immediately in the Book Marc Jacobs Collection Handbags Genesis in passages that tell the story of the seven days of Creation. Thus, numbers play an integral role in spiritual writing. The Spiritual meaning of numbers in reference to time, for example, may be literal or symbolism. For instance, God, a supernatural spirit, all-powerful, created the universe in seven days. Or, perhaps, seven days was merely a symbol to facilitate the weaker human’s understanding of time. One day in Creation could have been a symbolic reference to one phase, one millennium or ten thousand years. It’s impossible to know for certain how long Supernatural Design actually took place. In faith, we accept that which is beyond our human understanding as applied by God.

The Spiritual meaning of numbers play a very important role in helping the faithful to understand supernatural intent. Most religions of the world use chronological time to set standards for religious traditions, rituals and special feast days. But, religious peoples also accept numbers as spiritual signs. The 10 Commandments in the Old Testament stand out as a singular code of behavior for basic human behavior as well as human rights. Numbers in the New Testament play an extremely important role for many Christians who calculate the days of Advent and Lent, the numbers of hours of the Crucifixion and the number of days before Resurrection and Ascension occurred. Catholics, for example, pray a 5-decade rosary and pray before 14 Stations of the Cross.

The Bible, a Testament to the Inspired Word of God, includes numbered passages as well as numbered chapters. In the Old Testament, a closer review of Deuteronomy Verses 1-4, tells of the Israelites, punished by God, wandering 40 years in the desert for refusing to enter the Promised Land. With respectful deference to God’s choice of 40 years, the faithful may wonder: “Why 40 years? Why not 5 years or 10 years?”. Perhaps, the answer lies in the life span of humans of the day. 40 years was considered a full generation. A full generation, perhaps, to recompense lack of obedience to God. Only a supernatural spiritual being, all-knowing and all-powerful really knows the answer. The spiritual meaning of the number “40″ becomes clearer.

The New Testament, the Book of Revelation in which is described the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, various visions of the Book’s author, John, of Armageddon and Second Coming of the Messiah. It’s a Book of 7 cycles of events wherein the number “7″ appears often, as well as the frequently misinterpreted number “666″. Religious scholars believe the number “666″ actually was a numerical reference to Emperor Nero, whose name in Hebrew equals 666. Numbers in the Book of Revelation have been interpreted to calculate the precise year of Armageddon. The Writing of the Book of Revelation is believed to be the work of John the Apostle while on Patmos.

The spiritual meaning of numbers take on special significance when accepted literally and without misinterpretation.

Romantic Things to Do For Valentines Day

3 月 10th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

Romance And Love

Every year on February 14th that special holiday just for Lovers is celebrated. We are talking of course about Valentines Day.

Starting in January we are bombarded with ads on television, radio and in print about getting Obagi Face Wash perfect, most romantic gift. But just what is the right gift?

Is it the biggest bouquet of flowers, the largest box of chocolates or the most expensive candlelit dinner? How about a piece of shiny jewelry?

All of these things are okay, they’re just not very romantic. Anyone can go to the nearest jeweler or flower shop, whip out the credit card and spend the amount they think is needed to impress their lover.

There are even lists that actually suggest giving gift certificates. It doesn’t matter if the certificate is for a spa, jewelry or sexy lingerie, a gift certificate basically says, this is how much you are worth to me.

Don’t get me wrong, those things can be part of the Valentines Day experience, they just shouldn’t be your entire focus.

To make Valentines Day truly memorable you need to allow your inner romantic to express itself. To do this you need to try a different tact, you need to spend a little more time finding the best ways to express your love to that most significant person in your life.

The Valentines Day Test

Start by considering Valentines Day as a test. Not a test where you sit down and mark answers on a sheet of paper, but rather a test of how well you actually know your Lover.

Prep for your test by truly listening to and observing your Lover. Watch what he or she looks at in stores. Look for the pauses as they find something in the paper or a magazine that catches their eye. Think about your relationship. Is there something that you used to do together when you were first dating that has gradually given way to the daily demands of home and work?

When you plan for Valentines Day consider that the single most precious gift that you can give your lover is a gift of time. Time with you, special time for themselves, be creative.

Also consider the day as a series of gifts, not just one here are the flowers and chocolates, now lets go to dinner. A series of small gifts or surprises that lead to something truly special will make this Valentines Day the most memorable ever.

So here are a few ideas.

  • Start the day by giving a single red rose and a short love note when they wake. The note doesn’t have to be poetic or perfect prose, it just needs to be sincere.
  • If they are the one that always cooks breakfast, you do it. Place a small love coupon next to the plate that gives your lover the gift of your time for whatever they may want.
  • Borrow their car and thoroughly clean it inside and out. Don’t tell them what you are going to do or what you have done, just do it and allow them to discover it on their own.
  • Plan a special activity that includes just the two of you. It doesn’t matter if it’s rock climbing, swimming at the beach, dancing, hiking or a bike ride. The idea is that it be an activity that you both will enjoy all the more because you are doing it together.
  • If there is something that your Valentine has been trying to get you to do or try, now would be a fantastic time to do it, with them. Have they been trying to get you to exercise, go for a walk, take a dance lesson, go to a special movie, go rollerskating or whatever.

The basic idea is that whatever you do doesn’t have to be super romantic. The romance will come from the fact that you have truly listened and responded to the one you love.

Then take them out to dinner and dancing, give them the flowers and chocolates and buy them some nice jewelry. After all, they are the love of your life!

Make your loved one smile with satisfaction every time that they think about this Valentines Day. Bob Current is the author of http://www.thingstodoforvalentinesday.info Check it out for even more ideas.

Hot Wedding Colours For 2009

3 月 9th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

Our homes generally set the trend for forthcoming wedding colour schemes along with the seasonal catwalk trends in current fashion styles.

And so the question on every bride & wedding planner’s lips is, ‘What will be the hot wedding colour trends for 2009?’

2007 and 2008 have seen our brides showcasing the following colour trends; Soft Greens with White, Lilac with Purple tones, Chocolate Brown and anything in Monochrome Black & White. These colours have been so popular and may still continue into 2009 weddings & events, though an explosion in fresher, brighter colours is more likely.

In contrast to the softer more subtle shades of last year, the forthcoming trends for 2009 will be far more exotic, brightly coloured and - believe it or not - almost luminous! Now before you start to panic, you do not need to go for anything too ghastly or too dominating. However, any bride who wishes to strut her stuff in style in 2009 needs to make a bold splash of colour if she wishes to remain in-line with other fashionistas!

So, how do you get a subtle colour splash into your big day without going overboard? Well, the key is to keep the main areas understated and classic. In other words, keep the bridal gown classical and elegant; choose carefully coordinated bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen outfits. You can then go for broke with table accessories, place settings, floral arrangements, venue decor and the trimmings on your wedding cake.

Look out for big tropical colour schemes focusing around Turquoise and Bright Yellow Shades. Mix these colours in with a tropical wedding theme. Bold favour boxes trimmed with yellow and blue ribbons and coordinating place settings will give guests the illusion of the heady climes of the tropics! Ask your florist about introducing a splash of these colours into floral centrepieces and co-ordinate with wedding cake trims.

Making a comeback this year will also be Bright Orange colour schemes. These will work really well when coupled with softer peach tones and the occasional shocking orange splash. You could dot bright orange cameras and bright orange petals about your reception tables for maximum effect. Tie peach favour boxes with bright orange ribbon and introduce Orange Gerberas or Tiger Lilies into bridal bouquets and floral centrepieces.

Pinks are always in fashion when it comes to wedding style, but as 2009 is all about making a statement, strong, luminous pinks are the shades to go for. As before, keep dresses and bridal party outfits classical and think about introducing the pink tones into reception decor. A great way to get bright luminous pink into your event is by having a cup-cake wedding cake. Each mini-cake can be tiered to give the effect of an all-encompassing wedding cake, yet a retro luminous pink icing and a fancy motif topping will give each cake a trendy feel. Mini cakes are also a massive hit with younger guests and some wedding cake specialists are able to make individual cakes to cater for various food intolerance which are worth knowing. Floral arrangements can be kept white and interspersed with bright pink feathers and coordinating ribbon.

So, whether you are having a tantalisingly tropical event, an outrageous orange occasion or a pretty pink affair, anyone who’s anyone in 2009, will definitely be hosting a bright, bold, beautiful and full-of-colour wedding!

Why You Need a Professional Resume

3 月 9th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

Do you think that you can just create your own resume and get the job of your dreams easily by sending it as a response for an employment ad? Think again. Today, more than ever, it is vital that an employee have a professional quality resume when they are seeking a job. A professional resume can make the difference between being passed over for a consideration at an interview to being at the top of the heap.

Right now we are experiencing a very competitive job market. Any employer who puts an ad in the paper or online advertising for an employee is likely to be besieged with resumes from candidates. How does the employer differentiate between these candidates? The resume is the first thing that the employer sees - the first impression that he or she has of you. If the product is of professional quality, then it will appear to the employer that you are a professional person who should be taken seriously in their quest for a job. If the product is not professional in nature, it may be passed over, no matter how good the qualifications listed appear. Appearances matter in an office environment, even when it comes to your resume.

While it can be easy to create a resume using a template on your computer, studies show that these are not likely to generate positive feedback. Most employers will recognize such a document and i will not create a favorable impression. When an employer sees a resume that stands out and has been created by a professional resume company, they are more likely to take notice. After all, the resume states that the employee is serious enough about getting a position to hire a professional resume writer. They are obviously serious about getting a job and will most likely be a professional person who will be an asset to the company.

A professional resume can also highlight what needs attention in your background and experience. Many people do not have the right idea when it comes to building their own resume and tend to play down their accomplishments. A professional resume company knows just how to get the document written that will stand out and get the candidate noticed. Not only will the resume be of top quality and professionally created, but a good resume service will include a cover letter that will draw even more attention to the candidate in a positive way.

If you are serious about getting the job of your dreams, then hire a professional resume service to create an outstanding resume and cover letter that is sure to get you noticed by prospective employers.

Obama, to be sworn as the 44th President of the United States, stated once, “At this moment of great challenge and great change, renewing the Replica Marc Jacobs Handbags of America begins with renewing the idea that in America, we rise or fall as one nation and one people. That sense of unity and shared purpose is what this Inauguration will reflect.” This sums up the event’s theme and Obama’s general platform for the country. Mansfield Shares Story of Faith of Obama

3 月 8th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

“This book is…written in the belief that if a man’s faith is sincere, it is the most important things about him, and…it is impossible to understand who he is and how he will lead without first understanding the religious vision that informs his life…” -Stephen Mansfield

I think reading The Faith of Barack Obama by Stephen Mansfield after the 2008 election is over has allowed me to better absorb the wealth of understanding this book provides. Mansfield, who has also written of Churchill, Booker T. Washington, George W. Bush, et. al. has a gift for honing in on, and creating a well-documented text that speaks directly to and clearly presents the defining points of the person about whom he has written.

It is not the first time Mansfield has written about the faith of men. It perhaps, though, is the first time that his book is published immediately before the election of that man as president elect. Obviously, the biography may well become a must-read for all Americans, as we look toward the time of change that Obama has promised. I believe the book covers essentially all of the issues that drove this year’s election and helps lay a foundation that will guide our understanding of the future.

One of the major highlights of the book was a comprehensive, comparative analysis of the “Four Faces of Faith” for those individuals who were the primary participants in the 2008 election: George W. Bush as the individual who was leaving the office and then Barack Obama, Jurlique Skincare Clinton and John McCain as the leading candidates. Each of these individuals has openly discussed their faith during the election. Reading the comparison however, clearly focuses on how the candidates’ profession of faith may have been perceived by citizens.

Mansfield begins his book, naturally, with a look at Obama’s early life. Considering the diversity of influences from his major role models-his parents, grandparents, and his stepfather¾it is somewhat amazing that he was able to intellectually work through the breadth of his experience and arrive at a point where he chose to follow Christ. Then, as various political campaigns were undertaken, Obama was constantly attacked from a faith standpoint; however, being under fire, actually worked to forge his beliefs into both rhetoric as well as actions that in turn fired his growing numbers of followers.

“We worship an awesome God in the Blue States,” declared Obama at the 2004 Democratic Party Convention speech. Quite willing to claim that democrats were Christians too, Obama has in essence “founded” a Religious Left that has met the needs of the millions who soundly rejected that only the Religious Right were true Christians. “We, too, have faith…Those of us who believe in a woman’s right to choose an abortion, who defend the rights of gays and who care for the poor… It was a conscious attempt to reclaim the voice of the American political Left.”

Mansfield clarifies issues regarding Obama’s early teachings in Islam, and his relationship with Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., as well as a discussion of the black church experience, which historically has provided a method for hearing the news, dealing with issues and planning for the good of the community. His inclusion of a perhaps little-known issue, of the “Tuskegee Syphilis Study,” lends credibility to his discussion and forces us to better understand the fear and anger of a large part of our population!

In closing, Mansfield highlights a number of healers-those who are able to bring about change for the good. Will Obama be such a healer? Mansfield seems to imply that he just might be. He has been forced to share and has willingly stood on what he believes, while at the same time, admitting, for instance, when he is unsure of his position on abortion, that “I don’t believe such doubts make me a bad Christian. I believe they make me human, limited in my understandings of God’s purpose and therefore prone to sin.” (From The Audacity of Hope) May this reviewer add her personal “Amen” to that!

Needless to say, I highly recommend The Faith of Barack Obama by Stephen Mansfield!

“No matter how religious they may or may not be, people are tired of seeing faith used as a tool of attack. They don’t want faith used to belittle or to divide…Because in the end, that’s not how they think about faith in their own lives.” –Barack Obama

George Washington Political Cartoons - The Man That Could Not Tell a Lie

3 月 6th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

In a world today that is so influenced by media it is hard to imagine what could have been said or produced on paper about our early presidents. George Washington, the first president of the United States, must have been hounded by the media and/or other writers just as politicians of today, right? If you search you can find George Washington political cartoons on the internet or in libraries. Are they as brutal as some of today’s political cartoons? No.

Good ole George Washington is very well known by many elementary children as the good man that “could not tell a lie”. A more current past president, Bill Clinton, may not have such a historical impact in the memory of most. One is more likely to think of him as the man that had no choice but to lie as his personal affairs were brought very public for the world to critique. So, in comparison a political cartoon of Clinton would likely be distasteful and perhaps include a cigar whereas George Washington political cartoons would probably reveal nothing more than a cherry tree incident.

No doubt it must be difficult to live the lives of a politician and have to read about oneself in the daily newspaper. Since the 19th century when political cartoons started making their way into the media much controversy has risen about them. Political cartoons are used daily to express ideas and opinions in ways in which words can not always do so. In the United States freedom of speech is sometimes tested, sometimes people have been charged with libel when printing information another person considers false. Political cartoons did not come about until around the 1870’s so it is interesting that one can even find George Washington political cartoons on the internet.

“Too bad George Washington didn’t have a previous party to blame”. That comment is from a cartoon referring to today’s presidents and their need to continue to blame the previous president and party for the demise of the United States and/or its policies. As previously stated, George Washington is not known for many scandals or personal problems so even the cartoons that exist using his name are usually referring to another time in history or another president and their current affairs. It would not be fair to claim that all of the cartoons involving George Washington are positive ones. There have been some George Washington political cartoons that reveal a questionable death caused by syphilis.

Without a doubt political cartoons can be funny. It is not always easy to figure out the message intended and sometimes cartoons can be read differently depending on the interpreter. Maybe it was the lack of existing technology that prohibited daily reports on George Washington. Maybe he really was a great man and deserves the lack of cartoon appearances; especially since most of today’s political cartoons are negative. Whichever the case, perhaps it is comforting to know that children still remember him as the man that could not tell a lie.

Top 10 Sales Tips You Can Learn From Barack Obama

3 月 6th, 2009 by pepboysauto404

Presidential candidates have the largest sales and marketing challenges. Presidential candidates have to sell themselves and their policies to millions of American voters. What sales tips and marketing tips can small businesses and sales and marketing professionals learn from Presidential candidate, Barack Obama?

1. You only have one chance to make a first impression - In 2000 as a young Illinois state Senator, Barack Obama could not even get a ticket to attend the Democratic national convention. When he was asked to give the keynote address in the 2004, Barack made the most out of his opportunity. Barack inspired Democrats, made people cry, gave attendants hope, and started his political ascent.

2. Be unique and different - Barack has a unique name and is the first African American Presidential candidate. In his childhood, Barack went by the Americanized name of “Barry”, but in College Barack decided to accept his given name. Using his given name has given Barack an advantage in his campaign. What’s more memorable the first time you hear it - “Barack” or “John”?

3. Practice your presentation skills - Barack is a gifted orator and inspires thousands of people. Even for the most gifted politician, being a great presenter takes a lot of practice. You can start by joining your local Toastmasters group. Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization with nearly 235,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 92 countries, offering a proven - and enjoyable! - way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills.

4. Take advantage of Web 2.0 - Barack’s campaign is Web 2.0 savvy. Barack is on Twitter, has his on online community, has a blog, is on Facebook, and has several YouTube videos. He even used technology to text his Vice Presidential selection. Taking advantage of social media helps him attract the college, young, and techy demographic. It also is another way his supporters can stay involved. His website has helped him collect a fundraising record of $605 million.

5. Start off your sales campaign strong and keep the momentum - Before the primaries began, Hillary Clinton was the heavy favorite to win the the Democratic nomination. Barack Obama knew it was important to win Iowa, the first Democratic primary, because this would give him momentum, media coverage, and would prove to voters in other states that his campaign had a chance to win the nomination. Just like Barack, it’s important to start your sales campaign off strong to help build momentum for the rest of the year and to get you through the slow periods. When you meet your sales and revenue goals do not let up. Barack Obama has stated that he is not keeping his lead for granted. He has been aggressively campaigning, even in the rain, and has bought several TV spots.

6. Don’t forget about the smaller customers - Barack Obama has raised a record $605 million dollars with an average contribution of $86. Traditionally, politicians have catered to the rich and wealthy for contributions, but Barack has shattered records by attracting 3.1 million donors. In business it is important to focus on the larger customers but don’t forget about the smaller customers, they might help you reach record sales as well.

7. Have a clear and consistent message - Barack Obama’s message has consistently been about “Change” and “Hope”. His book in 2006 was titled “Audacity of Hope”. These two words have been consistently used through out his campaign. While McCain has changed themes on a weekly basis, Obama has never drifted from his message.

8. Pick a good partner and team - Barack Obama has stated that picking the Vice-President is the most important decision he will have to make before he becomes President. He picked Senator Joe Biden, a smart pick because it gives Barack a seasoned experienced politician and foreign policy expert. Picking Senator Biden reflected a critical strategic choice by Senator Obama. He went with a running mate who could reassure voters about gaps in his résumé, rather than to pick someone who could deliver a state or reinforce Senator’s Obama’s message of change. In addition Barack picked a great campaign team. While there were rumors of tension within Hillary’s team and current rumors of tension in the McCain-Palin ticket, Senator Obama has run a smooth and drama free campaign.

9. Timing is everything - Barack Obama chose a perfect time to run for president. America is disenchanted with the current administration, unhappy about the war, and struggling due to the economy. Barack is running a campaign with the themes of hope and change, just what many American are looking for at this time.

10. Be calm, collective, and cool under pressure - Barack Obama appears to be calm, collective, and cool under pressure. Especially during this period of economic uncertainty, his calmness is reassuring to his supporters. In business and sales, giving an impression of being cool and collective can help you close the sale.
