Cameron ’sorry’ for debt mistakes

土曜日, 3 月 14th, 2009

David Cameron apologises for mistakes his party made on the economy, among them not warning about the debt crisis.

Whether your designer handbag is Herbal Colon Cleanse Louis Vuitton, a Gucci, or any other designer, it is important to take proper care of it. Proper care will give you many years of beauty and use in return.

Most leather designer bags are not treated. This allows the bags to age gracefully and with the character expected from a designer bag, making them distinct and unique. Keep your bag away from makeup, food, or any other oil based product which can stain. When you are not using your bag, store it in a protective cloth container.

The very first thing you should do is treat your handbag with a leather protector to prevent stains from setting in. No matter how careful you are, at some point your likely to leave a mark on it and the leather protection will not allow it to soak in so you’ll be able to more easily remove it.

What to do if you get a stain. Here’s some helpful tips worth trying.

Cleaning leather can be a bit difficult. Leather is rugged and lasts a long time but it does stain quite easily. Depending on the type of leather and the finish, will depend on the cleaning method used.

If a handbag is tanned, and pigmented you can try to wipe the stain with a soft damp clothe. If this doesn’t work, try a leather cleaner specifically made for the type of leather you have. Follow the directions carefully. Once the spot has been removed it is a good idea to re-condition the leather to restore the natural luster. Always test a leather product in inconspicuous spot before applying to your entire handbag.

If the leather has become discolored there are leather products on the market that can help restore color. Try to match the product as close as possible to the natural color of your handbag.

If your not sure, we would recommend you take it to a professional leather cleaner who will have the expertise to remove the stain.

China ‘can boost stimulus plan’

金曜日, 3 月 13th, 2009

China’s Premier Wen Jiabao says Beijing can boost its economic stimulus package should the global crisis deepen.

Second grade science projects are simple and fun to do. You should pick a topic that can hold the interest of the children. At this age they are just learning how to figure things out for themselves, instead of being spoon fed information, and they’re very eager to learn new things. It’s very beneficial to children to start doing experiments at this age; it stimulates their mind and encourages them to think things out.

Some fun experiments for second graders would be to see if a certain type of animal prefers one food over another; such as, do ants prefer sugar over bread? What about white sugar over brown sugar? Other fun 2nd grade science projects is the traditional volcano model, however while this is fun for the kids, it’s not really answering a question. Another idea might be to see if animals behave different when they’re faced with a visual reflection of themselves like a mirror.

If so, what do they do? Try to play with their reflection? Maybe get mad at their reflection? Maybe they even get scared. Does it make a difference if the mirror is up close or a distance away from them? One fun project for young kids might be to see if the shape of a paper airplane affects the distance it will fly. You can test this out by making a long narrow plane and a short stubby plane and seeing which one flies further. There are tons of fun projects for this age group; it’s just a matter of picking one out of many.

Thousands attend murder protests

水曜日, 3 月 11th, 2009

Rallies have taken place across Northern Ireland as people show their anger at the murders of two soldiers and a policeman.

In 2009, the economy is making your decision-making process a heck of a lot harder than it was in 2007, or even 2008. Obama is in the Oval Office, and he has some grand plans, but it’s going to take a long time for the benefits to trickle down to you and your customers.

Have you considered what you need to do as a small business owner, a department head, or a front-line supervisor? How do you keep your profit-margin respectable when your customers have less money to spend and so do you?

The key in a down-turn economy is marketing. It may seem counter-intuitive, especially if you are used to marketing being expensive. But the fact is, if you allow your marketing program to suffer the same cutbacks as some other extraneous business expenses, you’re going to find your revenue tanking faster than it should, AND when the economy starts turning around, you’re not going to recover as fast.

This is an age-old paradox that businesses of all size have wrestled with for centuries, but it especially effects the smaller businesses who don’t have millions in cash reserves to feed the furnace while you wait for the oil truck to show up. All too often, an otherwise savvy business owner will hunker down in a down-turn economy, saving every penny, cutting back everywhere in an effort to stay afloat. The trouble is, customers have a pitifully short memory, and chances are slim they’ll know who you are by the time you see the sun again.

So how do you maintain a progressive marketing plan that is financially responsible in 2009? Here are a few low-cost or free suggestions for maintaining your marketing in a down-turn economy:

  • Develop and push a customer-retention and appreciation program: You need to maximize the value of every single customer you service. Make sure you have valuable information and/or incentives waiting for them to enjoy in exchange for their contact information. Send them newsletters with special promotions. Send them greeting cards, thank you cards, call them on the phone if it’s appropriate. Anything that tells them you’re not just a business person, you’re a valuable and friendly member of their community.
  • Set up a customer referral program: Closely connected with the paragraph above, start letting your loyal customers bring you more loyal customers. I don’t need to preach to you about the value of word-of-mouth advertising. Give away discounts on future purchases, rewards, a logo baseball cap, anything to make your customer WANT to tell their friends, their family, their workmates! Everyone knows a hundred other people that may never even realize you exist unless they hear it from your customer!
  • Make sure your customer service skills and quality are top notch: This should go without saying, regardless of the state of the economy. But without good customer service and a quality product to offer, you shouldn’t be in business in the first place. You don’t have to worry about retaining customers or asking them to refer others, because your business isn’t worth it. It’s THAT important.

There are thousands of other free or low-cost, practical ways to maintain your marketing plan in the current economy, but these three items form a vital cornerstone on which all your other efforts should be built. By focusing first on these three items, your plan builds constant momentum that will eventually sustain itself. These three items will also help cushion you against deep downturns, or against marketing ideas that don’t pan out for one reason or another, giving you the opportunity to regroup and try something new.

2009 Medicaid Limits Are Important For Those Who May Need Long-Term Care

火曜日, 3 月 10th, 2009

Consumers as well as agents and brokers who market long-term care insurance should have a current knowledge and understanding of Medicaid’s Spousal Impoverishment rules that come into play when an individual or a spouse enters a nursing home.

It is important to understand that far Buy Natural Skin Care many people fail to properly plan for the potential risk of needing long-term care. At a point in time when they finally anticipate the need, they are generally in too poor health to qualify. Counting on government programs such as Medicaid is certainly not going to be a viable answer going forward as Federal and State programs become more severely strapped for cash.

The expense of nursing home care, which according to the 2008 LTC Insurance Sourcebook, ranges from $4,000 to $7,000 a month or more, can rapidly deplete the lifetime savings of elderly couples. The cost of home care as well as assisted living can be costly as well. Generally government programs such as Medicaid do not pay for this care and, as a result, as personal savings were depleted many people were (and are) forced into nursing homes.

In 1988, Congress enacted provisions to prevent what has come to be called “spousal impoverishment” that can leave the spouse who is still living at home in the community (as they refer to it) with little or no income or resources. These provisions are designed to help ensure that this situation will not occur and that community spouses are able to live out their lives with independence and dignity.

2009 Resource Eligibility (According to Center for Medicaid Services, CMS)

The spousal impoverishment provisions apply when one member of a couple enters a nursing facility or other medical institution and is expected to remain there for at least 30 days. When the couple applies for Medicaid, an assessment of their resources is made. The couple’s resources, regardless of ownership, are combined. The couple’s home, household goods, an automobile, and burial funds are not included in the couple’s combined resources. The result is the couple’s combined countable resources. This amount is then used to determine the Spousal Share, which is one-half of the couple’s combined resources.

To determine whether the spouse residing in a medical facility meets the state’s resource standard for Medicaid, the following procedure is used: From the couple’s combined countable resources, a Protected Resource Amount (PRA) is subtracted.

The PRA is the greatest of:
The Spousal Share, up to a maximum of $109,560 in 2009;
The state spousal resource standard, which a state can set at any amount between $21,912 and $109,560 in 2009;
An amount transferred to the community spouse for her/his support as directed by a court order; or
An amount designated by a state hearing officer to raise the community spouse’s protected resources up to the minimum monthly maintenance needs standard.

After the PRA is subtracted from the couple’s combined countable resources, the remainder is considered available to the spouse residing in the medical institution as countable resources. If the amount of countable resources is below the State’s resource standard, the individual is eligible for Medicaid. Once resource eligibility is determined, any resources belonging to the community spouse are no longer considered available to the spouse in the medical facility.

Income Eligibility
The community spouse’s income is not considered available to the spouse who is in the medical facility, and the two individuals are not considered a couple for income eligibility purposes. The state uses the income eligibility standard for one person rather than two, and the standard income eligibility process for Medicaid is used.

Post-Eligibility Treatment of Income
This process is followed after an individual in a nursing facility/medical institution is determined to be eligible for Medicaid. The post-eligibility process is used to determine how much the spouse in the medical facility must contribute toward his/her cost of nursing facility/institutional care. This process also determines how much of the income of the spouse who is in the medical facility is actually protected for use by the community spouse.

The process starts by determining the total income of the spouse in the medical facility. From that spouse’s total income, the following items are deducted:

A personal needs allowance of at least $30;

A community spouse’s monthly income allowance (between $1,750 and $2,739 for 2009), as long as the income is actually made available to her/him;

A family monthly income allowance, if there are other family members living in the household;

An amount for medical expenses incurred by the spouse who is in the medical facility.

The community spouse’s monthly income allowance is the amount of the institutionalized spouse’s income that is actually made available to the community spouse. If the community spouse has income of his or her own, the amount of that income is deducted from the community spouse’s monthly income allowance. Similarly, any income of family members, such as dependent children, is deducted from the family monthly income allowance.

Once the above items are deducted from the institutionalized spouse’s income, any remaining income is contributed toward the cost of his or her care in the institution.

月曜日, 3 月 9th, 2009

Gold coin collectors everywhere are celebrating the soaring gold prices that have been seen in recent times. Coins and collections that were once valuable are now very valuable. For 2008-2009, gold coin collecting will remain strong.

Proof gold coins are expected to be strong performers through 2009, as are rare date and early gold. With rare date and early gold coins, the better they look, the higher their value. Obama on His Way to Disarm the US

日曜日, 3 月 8th, 2009

We need to recollect some of the pledges that Obama took before Iowa caucus. Obama, in a videotaped pledge revealed what he though about US defense program. The video is available on YouTube as well. In this videotape, he revealed that he wanted to reallocate the defense funds to other welfare programs. Caucus for Priorities, a lobbying group was so impressed with such a plan that it guided 10,000 members to Obama. Obama’s main aim seems to slash nuclear and convention weapons. The idea of this defense cut, along with his temper, is incredible. Let us have a look at what he said in that video tape.

“I’m the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning; and as president, I will end it…”

“Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not Ed Hardy Duffle Bag space. I will slow our development of future combat systems…I will institute an independent defense priorities board to ensure that the Quadrennial Review is not used to justify unnecessary defense spending.”

“Third, I will set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenal.”

While Osama is planning a nuclear attack on America and countries like Iran and North Korea are a nuclear threat to us, Obama decision for a cut in defense budget seems to be illogical. Our budget, needless to say is already quite low and this decision of Obama will just make our country feel more unsecured without proper funds availability.
